Basic Shape
Notes:
- The rim edges will be altered by offsetting the centers.
- The pedestal bottom is not necessary

Tenon Forming
Shift at headstock end
BEFORE forming tenon
Notes:
- All the offsetting is done at the point in time when the tenon is formed. This drives the rest of the asymmetry
Shape Turning
Shearing cuts start in mid-air to preserve bark (natural edges)
Notes:
- First turn the outside of the piece. This lets you define the
natural edge and guides the shape of the interior. - If applying CA glue to help the bark and sapwood stay on the
piece, do it after turning the exterior and before turning the interior.
