A duxchuck is a homemade jig intended to allow the user to create offset turnings. There are various versions of the jig listed on the World Wide Wood Turners youtube channel under the homemade jigs playlist. Some are referenced as the duxchuck. Prior to falling into that name some are simply referenced as Jim Duxbury’s center-offset jig. Since the creation of the original duxchuck, several variations have been created. To make a duxchuck:
- – Drill a tenon size hole in a block of wood.
- – Drill 1/4″ dowel holes perpendicular to the tenon hole, one on each side.
- – Slice the block in half, through the center of the tenon.
- – Glue the dowels on one side of the slice.
- – Place the second half of the sliced block loosely over the dowels
Now, you can place a project with tenon in the hole, slide the block into your chuck, move the block left and right to create offsets, clamp the chuck down on the duxchuck to hold it firmly.

None exist on the site at the moment. I will see what I can do about getting a design under the templates.
Dave, you asked for it, we have added it. It is on the Free Templates page under the menu heading FYI. https://www.worldwidewoodturners.org/free-templates/
