Tenon Forming

Shift at headstock end
BEFORE forming tenon

Notes:

  • All the offsetting is done at the point in time when the tenon is formed. This drives the rest of the asymmetry

Shape Turning

Shearing cuts start in mid-air to preserve bark (natural edges)

Notes:

  1. First turn the outside of the piece. This lets you define the
natural edge and guides the shape of the interior.
  2. If applying CA glue to help the bark and sapwood stay on the
piece, do it after turning the exterior and before turning the interior.
